MINISTRY TEAM

Training for Eternity.  This is what it is really about.  Our ministry team at SonRise Gymnastics is an exhibition team that preforms for our community and surrounding areas.  On this team the gymnasts are taught that it is truly better to serve others then to serve ones self.  This group of talented athletes is traning not just gymnastics skills, but life skills.  Learning to witness to others through their gifts and talents that God has given them. 
This team will be taught acrobatics as well has artistic gymnastics, trampoline & tumbling.  

 

  

DEVELOPMENTAL TEAM

In every class at , our coaches are always on the lookout for young gymnasts who show the talent and desire to become competitive gymnasts. We invite such students to try out for our Developmental Team program. This program is designed to provide the maximum in gymnastics learning, in an exciting and challenging environment.

Selection for the Developmental Team Program at SonRise is the result of an interactive process between the students, coaches and parents. Beyond the physical talent necessary for success in competitive gymnastics, children must possess the desire and motivation to be in the gym to train extensively, and parents must be prepared to support their gymnast in the commitment of dedication and hours it takes to achieve success.

At SonRise, our selection process normally begins when one of our coaches recognizes the talent in a student in a preschool or instructional class. Recommendation from a coach leads to a letter of invitation for the student to be tested for entry into the program. It is by no means required that you test for entry, you may want to consider the long term commitment before doing the test.

Because Parents are such an important part in determining a gymnast's long term success, we also require a parent interview before final entry into the program.

It may seem like a lot of commitment and a lot of work, but the benefits of that commitment are equally great. Besides the obvious benefits of physical fitness, gymnasts learn the value of hard work, the challenge of overcoming obstacles and the importance of dedication to a task. It is also a lot of fun!

COMPETITIVE TEAM

Welcome to SonRise Gymnastics competitive program. 

 

The Compulsory program here at SonRise Gymnastics  includes Level 3, Level 4, Level 5 and Level 6. The focus of this program is the development of our youngest competitive gymnasts in entry-level gymnastic skills, physical conditioning, performance skills, team bonding as well as spiritual and psychological training. These very important levels introduce the parent and the athlete to competition and our goal is to help them enjoy every step of the process.

 SonRise Gymnastics formally Cleveland Academy of Gymnastics has serviced the Cleveland, Bradley, Hamilton and Greater Chattanooga area for many years.  Now under new ownership SonRise Gymnastics will continue to represent these areas with its great talent.

 We have moved into a new facility that offers our gymnasts the best equipment needed to prepare them for competition.  Our competitive program is under going some changes.  More hours are being added to the schedule.  A more disciplined workout is taking place, and the Lord is being glorified with our talents and achievements.

 This year is a building year for our team.  We would like to take this opportunity to develop sound gymnastics basics which will aid our athletes as they prepare for optional level gymnastics. 

TALENT OPPORTUNITY PROGRAM

SonRise Gymnastics offers the USAG "TOPS" program to gifted athletes who train in our competitive program levels 4 through 10.  Each year we test the physical, mental and emotional development of our athletes to make sure that we are providing the challenges and opportunities that they are ready for.  The athletes are selected after an evaluation which is held in March.  They will add 2 additional trainings to their schedule for intense training in strength and flexibility.
